With oil at $90/barrel, which is 68% of its all time high price of $147/barrel from July 2008; why isn't gasoline $2.52 per gallon at the pump, this would be 68% $4.12 of the national average from July 2008?

Solution: Breakup the Oil Refining and Distribution network in California PLUS prosecute the price gouging participants in that system.

Chu,
If I were to "bail out" the auto industry with Taxpayer funding, I would have mandated that all components (every part down to the screws) be manufactured in America by American workers.

The pipeline has been re-routed and no longer crosses the NE aquifer. What is your opposition now? You don't want thousands of jobs and energy independence. You just want GREEN crap that doesn't work.

We need to become energy independent using the source we have now, expand offshore drilling, use clean coal energy, expand the use of Hydroelectic power, build safe nuclear reactors, upgrade our power grid. Once a new green energy source has proven itself in "real world" applications, allow private industry free reign to build and expand it's use.

Isn't he the one who said he wanted gas prices to be $8.00 per gallon or more like Europe. I don't want to be the next Europe.

Ethanol does not in any way improve fuel mileage, it causes you to use more. It causes damage to engines and fuel systems. Have you not noticed the increase in motor vehicle engine fires? Remove it and we will use less fuel and the atmosphere will be cleaner. The price of food will come down. The costs of producing the food will come down. Get out of the way, you are impeding the progress of this country and its people.

Go back to school and study botany. You will find that carbon dioxide is necessary for all life, just as oxygen is. Increases in carbon dioxide cause increases in plant life. Carbon dioxide does not cause increases in the earth's temperature. It never has and it never will. Carbon Dioxide is not a pollutant and it never has been.
I've never seen so many stupid people working in our government in all my life.
