Government-supported research has laid the groundwork for medical breakthroughs that have improved quality of life, increased longevity, spurred private sector innovation and fueled the economy. If re-elected, will you make research for health a higher national priority so Texas residents and people across the country can benefit from the promise of science from both a health and economic standpoint?

House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings has proposed legislation that would essentially double the amount of areas that President Obama is setting aside to drill offshore. What do you think of that plan and what possible middle ground is there for Democrats and Republicans to reach a compromise?

I read in the news today that there is a possibility that the "detainees" (Terrorists) will be brought into the Continental United States when Guantanamo Bay is closed. I won't get into how I feel about the closing but I do want a promise from you. Will you promise me that if the Guantanamo inmates are imported to these United States they will not step foot in Texas but will go to that corrupt State of Illinois where the crooks and political con-men should make them feel right at home!
