Obamacare.....
You have chest pains. You go to the hospital and are treated and sent home. If you have chest pains again and go back to the hospital within 30 days you are not now covered!
My daughter is a nurse and they are already bearing the brunt of this idiotic law. If the nurses do not accurately document all treatment and advice then they are the ones that are written up and their jobs are on the line. People..just go to the emergency room. This is sure NOT the answer. 535 people and not one of them has a brain!!

I left the nursing profession when Bush bombed Iraq. Obama has made it impossible for me to return. I am a greeter at Wal-Mart. I expect NO healthcare when they try to cram this new system down my throat. I will be opting out even if it is the death of me.

Upon what basis do you claim that preschool is necessary or children will be so far behind that they may as well not try and just drop out by the 3rd grade? Did not a gov't agency show that preschool does not confer gains that survive kindergarten, and that recently, based on head start program results?
I realize that Pelosi and Reid and Rangel and Boxer have set the bar for logic, rationality, accuracy and intelligence really low, but you set a new low with that one.

Yes to this question! There is no reason that government should be setting standards for these issues and making the rules that will apply to all of us!

Sec. Sebelius,

Do you ever get tired of having to explain health care policy to people who, honestly, don't want to hear any of your rational and logical answers (because they're too busy shouting vague nonsense about liberty and freedom)? Likewise, do you get tired of having to explain the world wasn't created when Pres. Obama was elected in 2008? As last I checked, Medicare has been a govt. program for several decades and people were not upset and angry about it (or the private insurance market denying coverage/treatment) during the Bush Administration.

Now that we know what Medicare is and has done, there is great outcry about it, at least among those of us who managed to evade the drugged state that accessing medicare results in and the actual death sentence that awaits. Medicare failure informs those who still can think that Obamacare is an even worse nightmare of erosion of liberty and violation of the discovered right to privacy, if broad enough to cover abortion, is broad enough to cover my right not to get in the feds database and make my own medical choices w/o fed interference.

If Obama care is such a great program and if it is so cost effective, why did you have to go out and solicit funds for it to operate? Apparently, the programs details are not as attractive as you would lead us to think.

Will you be using the 'Affordable'Health Care Act coverage? If not, why not. If you feel it's a good thing, you who voted on it and he who made the great promises had better all be forced to use it. Did the Stupak Amendment just fall out? So Congress can vote on a bill called 'Guaranteed Jobs for All', promise better wages, more benefits for all. After passing, we find out what's in it and everybody gets $6.50 an hour for any job they do. They don't pick the job. The jobs are handed out randomly by lottery numbers. It's really an abomination, a huge lie. Our president did this to us!

Propose the 28th Amendment, stating that Congress will be compensated the AVERAGE income; pay Federal taxes at the same rate; pay out of pocket and receive the same HEALTH CARE and Retirement benefits as their constituency.

Secretary Sebelius, Does an American lose his or her right to spend his or her own money to buy a medical service from a physician just by signing up for Medicare? If I need a life threatening service, may I use my own money to buy the care I need?

Laura Walls Posted 1 year ago
Exactly and let me make myself clear Sebelius,I strongly suggest that you stay of my life, and not come anywhere near me, my doctor and my health decisions and what I decide to pay for, I WILL NOT be signing up under your American Enslavement Act, Who are you to dictate to me that I cannot pay my own doctor with my own money. I am not your serf ,I do not belong to you, therefore I do not have to comply You evidently have some sort of catastrophic inferiority complex and low self-esteem in order to have this incessant desire to exert this much control over people. I would be embarrassed .

Every physician in the US must establish a relationship with medicare or specifically opt out of any relationship with medicare. In writing. Filed with medicare. If you have opted out of medicare completely you may only treat them if you contract with them in writing for your services. You can charge the patient what you want, and they cannot seek reimbursement from medicare. If you have contracted with Medicare, you are limited to charging what medicare says you can charge. No more.
Once you sign with Medicare, you are working for Medicare, not for yourself.

And furthermore Ms Sebalius what exactly is the problem with a patient coming into my office and receiving a service for whatever price we agree on when the patient pays directly and we do not involve Medicare. By what authority do you restrict free Americans from doing that.

Yes, Secretary Sebelius, why on earth should we be precluded from using our OWN MONEY, not medicare, to pay for any service whatsoever, of our choice? Be it lfe-threatening, or cosmetic?

Medicare is a Ponzi scheme. Inusrance is a Ponzi Scheme. Our financial system is a Ponzi scheme. Ponzi schemes are backed by the full faith and credit of the participants. Sibelius and Obama are useful morons otherwise they would not be where they are.Their job is to not let any participant out of the scheme unitl the looters have left the country and our assets are secured in overseas vaults. So the question with all due respect to Dr. O is moot.

I think that Medicare probably will prohibit physicians that accept Medicare from providing experimental or uncovered services in the near future. Right now, we can still have the patient sign an advanced beneficiary notice and receive direct payment. Who knows, we could go the way of Canada and all private medicine will be prohibited in which case only a trip out of the country will allow the patient to escape these restrictions. As Medicare declines in terms of quality and access, I believe that many seniors will get care out of the US and even retire overseas for that very reason.

Dr. Orient:

Why should your hypothetical patient have to use "her own money" for a life-saving procedure? Shouldn't Medicare cover that cost--at least to the point of customary fee for the doctor(s)? Your repetition of "My own money" is frankly disturbing to me. You sound like Ms Sibelius!

The question is: why should I not be ALLOWED to spend my own money? One never HAS to buy treatment; one could always do without, or settle for whatever the Secretary's IPAB will buy with taxpayers' money. I sense some resentment about anybody having her own money.

My Doctor stoped taking medicare. At that time he droped me.

He said he could no longer treat me , by law....
